With a touring schedule covering every spot between New Zealand and the States, Dutch DnB collective Black Sun Empire are widely regarded one of the nations biggest exports acts. Their fifth album to date has become another example of drumatic hybridism: elements from dubstep, indie, and electronica are coated in 12 supersonic compostions fueled by manic but intelligently structured grooves, soaring bass waves and mindblowing climaxes capable of blowing even the most stubborn critics out of their socks.
Its not easy to pick just a few favorites, but tunes such as the emotive Adaptation, the aforementioned All Is Lost and the stunning closing track Battalion take extra credit for their inventive mixage of genre-crossing elements, standout programming and overall raw vibes.
